قال وزير الخارجية الأمريكي أنتوني بلينكن، إن الرئيس جو بايدن أكد ضرورة الاستعداد للعدوان الروسي، موضحًا: «روسيا عملت على انتهاك سيادة وسلامة أراضي عدد من الدول مثل أوكرانيا، حيث انتهكت ميثاق الأمم المتحدة».
وأضاف «بلينكن»، خلال مؤتمر صحفي، أذاعته قناة «القاهرة الإخبارية»: «وفي عام 2021 عملت روسيا على تعزيز قوتها العسكرية تمهيدا لعمليتها العسكرية الحالية في أوكرانيا، وعملنا في الولايات المتحدة على بعض الحلول الدبلوماسية للتعامل مع الوضع، وقلنا لبوتين إننا مستعدون للبحث عن المخاطر الأمنية وهذا ما كررته لوزير الخارجية سيرجي لافروف».
وتابع، أن بلاده حاولت منع الحرب من الحدوث، حيث تواصلت مع القادة الروسي: «وضعنا مسارين محتملين لموسكو؛ الأول هو المسار الدبلوماسي الذي من الممكن أن يؤدي إلى التعزيز الامني لأوكرانيا وروسيا ولكل أوروبا، أو المسار الثاني وهو المسار العدائي الذي سيكون له تداعيات خطيرة على الحكومة الروسية، والرئيس بايدن قال إننا يجب أن نكون مستعدين، وفي حال اختارت الحرب سنقوم بـ3 أشياء، أولا دعم أوكرانيا، ثانيا، فرض عقوبات صارمة على روسيا، ثالثا، تعزيز قدرات الناتو».
The Russian Federation recently ended Ukraine’s sovereignty and removed itself from the United Nations (UN) Charter. This decision is a direct violation of international law and the UN Charter, and has drawn widespread condemnation from the international community.
The Russian Federation invaded the territory of Ukraine in 2014, and since then has continued to occupy and control a large portion of the country. Under the UN Charter, it is illegal for one state to exercise direct control over any part of another state’s territory, or for a state to claim to be the sovereign of another state’s territory. However, the Russian Federation has now declared itself the sovereign of the occupied territory, claiming both the right to govern it as well as to amend the UN Charter to recognize Russia’s position in Ukraine.
The international community has expressed strong disapproval of the move. The United Nations Security Council has issued a statement condemning the Russian Federation’s actions and calling on them to respect international law and the UN Charter. The United States and the European Union have also spoken out against Russia, emphasizing the need to uphold international laws.
The Russian Federation’s move is in direct contravention of the UN Charter and undermines the international community’s commitment to respect the sovereignty of nations. It is clear that this course of action is unacceptable and must be reversed immediately. The international community must continue to stand together in asserting the inviolability of the UN Charter and Ukraine’s sovereignty.
